Devas Daughters is a seasonal, BIPOC apprenticeship working with plant medicine...an exploration of the land through a complete sensory connection with the plant, animal, mineral, human and spirit life present at Soul Flower Farm. This is a FULL-ON working apprenticeship that meets Thursday, weekly, 10-4pm. We will cover a variety of topics foundational to community herbalism, as well as, basics for the beginning farmer, gardener and medicinal herb grower. Apps open in January.
All About Nettles: Wild Edible & Medicinal Plant Walk

Stinging nettle is one of our most nutrient rich local wild edibles. Join Maya on a field trip to Marin to harvest early spring nettles. We will discuss medicinal and culinary uses for this remarkable plant, as well as, learn which other wild edible and medicinal plants are complimentary. We will also practice techniques for sting free harvesting. Our day will include some tasters of nettle treats while we sip hot nettle tea.
*What to bring: A few paper grocery bags, scissors, gardening gloves, water bottle, sun hat and warm layers

R.O.O.T.S. is a one of a kind Permaculture Design Course (PDC) for people of color, exploring the indigenous origins of permaculture concepts taught from culturally relevant perspectives from a diverse group of people. We create space for understanding our roles as stewards and reclaiming empowerment through holistic design methods. Our goal is to deliver knowledge and an experience that facilitates connected oneness with mother earth and healing for our collective spirit!

Herbal Spring Cleansing & Creating a Spring Herbal Apothecary

Join Maya for a magical afternoon playing with medicinal plants. We will learn about several green allies for spring cleansing that we can incorporate into our everyday lives. In this practical class we will mix some special tea blends, learn how to make our own herbal glycerin tinctures, and create a healing salve from local organic ingredients. You will get an introduction to herbal medicine making, some basic recipes, and a handful of medicines to initiate your spring cleansing regimen. Young women age 10 and up are welcome.
